Batang, Gojateng.com -- Nestlé Indonesia has made a significant investment in Indonesia’s industrial sector by allocating $220 million for the construction of a new factory in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate, located in Central Java Province. The company also plans to expand the capacity of three of its existing factories across the country.

Sufintri Rahayu, Nestlé Indonesia’s Corporate Affairs Director, announced the initiative in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. “This year, we committed an additional investment of $220 million for the construction of our new factory in Batang, named the Bandaraya factory, which is expected to begin operations next year,” Rahayu said.

The Bandaraya factory will focus on producing ready-to-drink (RTD) products, adding to the company's existing lineup of beverages in Indonesia.

Continued Commitment to Indonesia's Market

This is not the first major investment by Nestlé Indonesia in recent years. Back in 2019, the company invested $100 million to enhance the production capacity of three of its existing facilities. These factories are located in Karawang, West Java; Bandar Lampung; and Kejayan, East Java.

Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Nestlé managed to maintain 100 percent operational capacity at all its facilities, ensuring a consistent supply of food and beverage products to the Indonesian market. This resilience highlights the company's dedication to meeting consumer demand even in the face of global disruptions.
